A small transfer school established to promote a community of successful, independent learners by creating a safe educational environment for all young people. HMHS is designed for students in grades 9-12 who have not met success in at least one other high school prior to admission and who want to continue their education in an alternative, small school environment.
We are accepting incoming 9th graders.

Transcript - submit in permanent record format (only for students already in HS)
R.E.S.I. Report (This is a snap shot of a students high school history. It can be obtained from the school's records office.)
Student Historical Profile Report (RHSP)
R.I.S.A. Report (This is a snapshot of a student's attendance history. It can be obtained from the school's records office.)
I.E.P. - Individualized Educational Plan - students who have been certified to receive Special Education services should submit a copy of their most recent I.E.P.
Birth Certificate
Immunization Record (Including Hepatitis B and TB)
Proof of Address (e.g. gas/electric bill, lease, etc.)
Parent/Guardian and student will meet with Parent Coordinator to present an official ID and complete forms.
You can pick up an application in the reception area of the high school between
the hours of 9AM - 2PM Monday - Friday.

The mission of Harvey Milk High School (HMHS), a small transfer school, is to establish and promote a community of successful, independent learners by creating a safe educational environment for all young people. HMHS is designed for students in grades 9-12 who have not met success in at least one other high school prior to admission and who want to continue their education in an alternative, small school environment. The school strives to provide all students with a rigorous academic experience for college and career readiness that emphasizes critical thinking skills and student collaboration.
